Ethiopia has accused Sudan of backing Tigray People’s Liberation Front. Yesterday heavy fighting erupted between Ethiopian and Sudanese forces on the Ethiopia-Sudan border in Barkah Noreen in Fashaga al Sughra.
According to Sudanese news sources, at least 6 Sudanese soldiers were killed in yesterday’s fighting. Sudanese media accused Ethiopian forces and militias of trying to disrupt harvesting activities in Fashaga al Sughra (Smaller Fashaga) where yesterday’s fighting happened.
Sudanese media accused Eritrean forces of backing Ethiopian troops in yesterday’s clashes.
Today Ethiopian Army chief Berhanu Jula and other government officials claimed that yesterday’s fighting began after Sudanese forces tried to facilitate incursions of TPLF fighters from Sudan into Ethiopia.
