Controversy around TPLF spox’s interview with Tigray TV

Two days ago, Getachew Reda, spokesperson of Tigray People’s Liberation Front, gave an interview to Tigray TV. A clip of this interview is being shared by pro-Ethiopian government individuals and entities to prove that the US was backing military advance by Tigray forces towards Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.

In the interview, Getachew Reda was comparing the US and Chinese policy towards the Ethiopia Tigray war. He said that China was clear in backing the Ethiopian government but US policy was not clear. Some sections were against TDF’s advance towards Ethiopian capital and others were saying that in case of Tigray forces reaching Addis, they should form a coalition.

Officially US has been against a military advance by Tigray forces towards the Ethiopian capital.
