Ethiopian Airlines has put a temporary hold on its flights to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport of Nairobi. The airline made this announcement on social media platforms. They cited an ongoing staff strike in Nairobi as the reason for disrupting flights to and from the city.
The airline is keeping a close eye on developments and has expressed regret to passengers for the disruption to their travel plans.
The temporary suspension of Nairobi flights by Ethiopian Airlines is expected to remain in place until the staff strike is resolved. Ethiopian Airlines, one of Africa’s largest carriers, expressed hope for a swift end to the labor dispute so normal operations can resume at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Before this in the last week, Ethiopian Airlines announced the suspension of its flights to and from Asmara, Eritrea, effective September 3, 2024. This decision arises from challenging operational conditions in Eritrea that are beyond the airline’s control.
