Addis Ababa Police Announces Road Closures

Addis Ababa police has announced road closures for vehicles due to the holiday of Meskel Demera. Ethiopian Orthodox Christians will celebrate Demera on Thursday followed by Meskel on Friday. Following roads will remain closed:

• The road from Saint Uriel Square to Meskel Square will remain closed at Saint Uriel Square
• For vehicles coming from Bole to Mesqel Square, road will remain closed at Olympia Square
•  The road from Meskel Flower to Olympia at Gazebo Square will remain closed
•  Road will remain closed from Agona Cinema to Meskel Square for heavy vehicles near Agona Cinema and for light vehicles at Tilahun Square
•  From Legehar Electricity to Meskel Square road will be closed at Legehar Electric Power.
•  For vehicles coming from Ras hotel to stadium, at Ras hotel the road will be closed.
•  From Harambe Electricity or Ambassador Cinema to Meskel Square
•  The road from the National Palace to Meskel Square near the National Palace will be closed.
•  The road from Kazanchis to Bambis will be closed.
•  The road from Jupiter Hotel to ECA near Bambis Salkot building will be closed

Addis Ababa police has shared contact numbers 011-1-11-01-11 and 991 for people to contact security forces about any suspicious activity.
