Addis Ababa authorities will ban the transport services of motorcycles in the city starting tomorrow. The Addis Ababa Transport Office announced that this ban on motorcycles will start at 12:00 AM on September 16, 2017, to Friday and last until midnight on September 17, 2017. Officials have urged transport and traffic inspectors, as well as traffic police, to enforce this prohibition effectively.
Moreover, Addis Ababa police announced road closures for vehicles due to the holiday of Meskel Demera. Ethiopian Orthodox Christians will celebrate Demera on Thursday, followed by Meskel on Friday. Addis Ababa police have shared contact numbers 011-1-11-01-11 and 991 for people to contact security forces about any suspicious activity.
