On 27th March 2024, Alelegn Azene, an Ethiopian national football team player, allegedly committed suicide. Collins Okinyo, an Ex-member of the CAF media team, stated that Alelegn Azene was struggling with mental health issues.
Yesterday police confirmed that it had detained family members of the former Bahir Dar City mid fielder. Arba Minch City police stated yesterday it had arrested Alelegn Azene’s brothers and sister to conduct an investigation.
Police is investigating those who were close to the soccer player. Phone call data is also being working on.
Inspector Abraham Muhe from Arba Mich police said that police had started investigation into all the activities of the football player. However, he denied the reports of arresting the mother and wife of Alelegn Azene. He added police may arrest them if we think we need to investigate them.
