The 2016 8th Grade regional exams have begun, including in Addis Ababa city. Today, the Oromia, Afar, Amhara, Gambella, South West Ethiopia, Southern Ethiopia, and Central Ethiopia regions are administering the exams.
The regional education bureau has announced the start of the 8th grade regional exam in the Afar region. Mr. Abdu Hassan, the head of the office, said that the 8th grade exams is being conducted for 10,179 students across 104 stations in the region. The office identified test sites, raised community awareness, and oriented students before the exam. The exam will take place over two days.
Moreover, Mr. Abdu Hassan emphasized the importance of community involvement in producing students who are judged solely on their academic performance. He encouraged everyone to contribute to this effort by spreading awareness and promoting a prejudice-free environment.
The Addis Ababa city administration education office has deployed 200 examiners and 700 supervisors to oversee the 8th grade exams at 182 stations across the city.
