Today, a domestic flight (ET154) of Ethiopian Airlines was flying from Hawassa to Addis Ababa which encountered a smoke problem during the flight. As the plane was in the air, the crew noticed smoke coming into the passenger cabin.
Despite this unexpected issue, the pilot stayed calm and the aircraft was able to land safely at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. All the passengers were able to get off the plane at the assigned gate without reporting any issues.
Ethiopian Airlines apologized to the customers and acknowledged the incident. The airline has ordered an investigation to determine the cause of the smoke event.
This investigation will likely involve a thorough inspection of the aircraft by qualified engineers to identify the source of the smoke and ensure the plane is fit before its next flight.
