How are prices on the Ethiopian Easter 2024? Ethiopian are celebrating Fasika this month. Ethiopia has been facing political and economic problems recently and people were expecting a rise in food prices. However, a price survey in Addis Ababa shows that the prices of food items bought on Easter are almost the same as the last year.
The survey shows sheep prices continuing at around 13,000 birr, eggs being sold for around 15 birr per unit with chicken costing 1,000 birr. Onions have seen a significant price decrease from 100 birr to 50 birr per kg. The people visiting markers for Easter shopping say that no doubt prices are getting high but still sheep, eggs, and chicken are affordable
The poultry market Sholla Gebeya decided against raising the price despite the food prices of animals have gone up. At the Qera and Shegolle livestock markets, prices for cows, goats, and sheep are also stable compared to the last year. Overall, the prices of food items bought on Ethiopian Easter 2024 seem to be stable.
