Ethiopia: Wolaita Defence Force, new armed group, seeks help from Tigray & Oromo fighters

Ethiopia: A new armed group Wolaita Defence Force, based in Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples’ region, have sought help from Tigray Defence Force and Oromo Liberation Army. Welayta ethnic group, with more than 5 million members, has been working for self-determination in Ethiopia. According to the statement issued by the group, it wants to build its full-fledged army with the help of Tigray forces and OLA fighters. Last week, 9 armed and political groups signed an agreement in the US to remove the sitting Ethiopian government. TDF and OLA have not so far responded to this request for military cooperation from Welayta Defence Force (WDF).
