Ethiopia Tigray news: Amnesty International says TPLF members committed human rights abuses in Nefas Mewcha

Ethiopia Tigray News: Amnesty International, in its latest report, says that in August 2021 Tigray fighters raped at least 16 women and stole their belongings too in Nefas Mewcha town. Nefas Mewcha town of Amhara region remained under the control of Tigray forces for only 9 days in August 2021. The Human Rights body says that the actual number of victims could be more than that. Tigray Presidential Spokesperson Getachew Reda has rejected these allegations. Earlier UN Human Rights body and Ethiopian Human Rights Commission, in their joint inquiry released a week ago, accused all parties to the Tigray conflict of having committed human rights abuses in the Tigray region of Ethiopia.
