Ethiopia News: Olusegun Obasanjo, mediator to the Tigray conflict, has issued a statement regarding his recent meetings with warring factions in Ethiopia. He says he has met with Tigray leaders, Ethiopian government officials, Amhara regional leader and he visited neighboring countries like Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Kenya, and Uganda too.
According to Obasanjo, common ground can be secured as all parties to the conflict want peace and stability. He called upon warring factions to halt their military operations for talks to continue.
Obasanjo’s statement indicates that he could not make any tangible progress towards the resolution of the Ethiopia-Tigray conflict through dialogue.
