Ethiopia has criticized the UN accusing it of incriminating victims. A few hours ago, UN spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, in a press briefing said that the UN aid warehouse in Kombolcha town was looted by both members of Tigray People’s Liberation Front and locals.
The Ethiopian government has reacted against UN officials’ statement that locals also looted the UN aid warehouse. Taye Atske Selaisse, Ethiopian envoy at the UN, today said,” we expect facts to be told straightforward and without evasion. Indeed warehouses in Kombolcha were deliberately ransacked and looted by the TPLF criminal marauders. But accusing the locals is incriminating the victims.”
According to independent news sources, UN aid warehouses in Kombolcha were looted by both Tigray fighters, who took aid to Tigray, and locals who were hungry and were in need of food aid.
