African Union appointee Olusegun Obasanjo and US envoy to the Horn of Africa, Jeffery Feltman, have stepped up their mediation efforts to resolve Ethiopia’s Tigray conflict peacefully. Jeffery Feltman has been shuttling between Nairobi and Addis Ababa. Obasanjo has met with both Tigray leaders and Ethiopian government leaders. Meanwhile, Tigray forces are advancing towards the strategic Ethiopia-Djibouti road. Fighting between Tigray forces and Afar militias and forces is being reported close to Kasa Gita which is a town situated between Bati and Mille.
