Somali Region President Mustafa Umer chaired a key meeting of the Somali regional govt cabinet on Tuesday. The cabinet vowed to ensure the Somali region’s self-rule. While Tigray forces and Oromo fighters are advancing towards the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, the Somali Regional govt, which was a key ally of the Ethiopian federal government led by PM Abiy, seems to be ditching PM Abiy’s federal government. Meanwhile, Kenya has closed its border with Ethiopia for fear of an influx of refugees. In another development, the Ethiopian government has reportedly purchased Chinese TL-2 missiles which are mounted on drones.
