The Education Assessment and Examinations Service has announced that 12th grade students in the Tigray region who studied under the previous education system will be taking their 12th grade exams. This includes students who were supposed to take the exams in the 2021 and 2022 academic years but were unable to do so for some reason.
The exams will be held in two rounds, with the first round starting on July 9th, 2024, and the final round concluding on July 19th, 2024. Students will have the option to take the exams either on paper or online. Around 54,000 students are expected to participate in the exams, which will take place at universities in Mekelle, Assum, Adi-Grat, and Raya.
Interestingly, while the Tigray region is holding its 12th grade exams in July, the rest of the country will be conducting their 12th grade graduation exams from July 10th to July 18th, 2024. In total, over 700,000 students across Ethiopia will be sitting for the 12th grade national exams this year.
