Telebirr Registration Process – Step-by-Step Guide

Telebirr is a mobile financial service launched by the government of Ethiopia in partnership with Ethio Telecom. It allows users to send and receive money, pay bills, buy goods and services, and perform other financial transactions using their mobile phones.

Registration for Telebirr

There are multiple ways to register for Telebirr. You can follow any registration method.

Registration Through the Mobile App

The first way to register for Telebirr is through a mobile app. You can download and install the Telebirr app.
After the installation, the next step is to choose an option to create an account.
The next step is to enter your mobile number and you will get a digit verification code via text. Enter the code and verify your mobile number.
After the verification of your mobile number, you need to fill in the information page including title, ID card, ID type, name, gender, date of birth, and language.
After submitting the required information you will receive a default PIN via SMS and you will have an option to create a new PIN for activation.
After creating a PIN and accepting the terms and conditions, you will receive the SMS that you can log in and start using the Telebirr.

Registration Through USSD

To register for Telebirr using USSD, the first step is to dial *127#.
Select the option of registration.
The next step is to type your name and date of birth.
After entering the information, you will receive a PIN via SMS.
Dial *127# to activate your account and enter your default PIN which you received via SMS.
