- Dessie.
Residents from Koye Feche to Jemo evacuated to the streets for safety. In Addis Ababa, neighborhoods like Arabsa, Summit, Imperial, Figa, Ayat 49, and Koye Feche also saw evacuations. Experts plan to release a statement soon to address the situation and offer guidance.
The earthquake registered a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale. It impacted regions including Addis Ababa, Amhara, North Shewa Zone, South Wollo, Dessie, Kombolcha, Afar, Fentale, and parts of Oromia and East Shewa. Initial assessments show no significant damage or casualties, but authorities will conduct thorough evaluations in the coming hours.
