Ethiopia’s 12th Grade Graduation Sees Record Register Rate of 97.5%

The Ministry of Education of Ethiopia has reported that 97.5% of students registered for Ethiopia’s 12th grade graduation exam this year.

Professor Birhanu Nega, the Minister of Education, shared that out of a total of 701,749 registered students nationwide for Ethiopia’s 12th grade exam, 97.5% registered. He mentioned that some students did not take the exam due to starting their studies later for various reasons.

The minister also announced that the graduation exams for students in the Tigray region were completed without issue. Notably, 29,718 students participated in the exam online. This year marked the inaugural use of online testing, and this approach has improved the examination experience, setting a positive precedent for future assessments.

The Ministry of Education has emphasized the importance of continuous improvement in the education system. The successful completion of the 12th grade graduation exams is seen as a significant step towards achieving this goal. The ministry is committed to enhancing the quality of education by implementing innovative methods and technologies, such as online testing. This will not only improve the efficiency of the examination process but also enhance the overall learning experience for students.
