The Addis Ababa city administration’s Education and Training Quality Control Authority has prohibited the operation of 18 private colleges due to policy violations.
Additionally, 26 other private colleges have received written warnings for less serious infractions.
Below is the list of banned colleges.
1. Bright College Lideta Campus
2. Bright college jemo campus
3. Sheger College Media Campus
4. Excellence College Arat Kilo Campus.
5. College of Excellence Media Campus.
6. Lion college media campus
7. Harmony College Kilinto Campus.
8. Alpha college lancha campus
9. African Redemption College
10. Arena multimedia college
11. Gage college shola campus
12. Satcom college
13. Queen’s college, 5 kilo campus
14. Harmony College Hana Mariam Campus
15. Queen’s College Medhanialem Campus.
16. Hage college
17. Kiamed college, egg factory campus
18. Queen’s College, Johannes Campus.
An official from the Education and Training Quality Assurance and Research Directorate noted that since 2016, they have monitored 59 private colleges, resulting in actions against 44 of them. Specifically, 18 colleges have had their licenses revoked, while 26 have been issued warnings ranging from mild to severe.
Below is the list of Addis Ababa colleges that have violated the systematic training policy and have been given a final written warning.

9. Harvard College

15. Kiamed College, 22 campus
16. Nile side college
17. Kiamed College Airta Campus and
18. They are a college of wellness.
Below is the list of colleges that have violated the medium systematic training policy and have been given a final written warning.
1. Yanet College, 6 kilo campus
2. Damat College George Campus
3. Yanet College Sefere Selam Campus.
4. Express college
5. St. Hannah’s college.
6. Grand mark college
7. Queen’s college Hannah mariam campus and
8. Harambe College Mexico campus
The authorities have instructed these institutions to make necessary corrections and submit a written report, as well as meet in person, within ten days. If they fail to comply within the specified timeframe, further administrative actions will be taken based on the severity of the violations.
