Power Supply Cut Off in Shewa Robit City of the Amhara Region

Power supply has been cut off in Shewa Robit city of the Amhara region. The sudden power failure happened yesterday. Reportedly water supply has also been cut off.

Shewa Robit city is situated in the North Shewa zone of the Amhara region. Since last year, intermittent has been ongoing in the vicinity of the city between Fano fighters and security forces. Since yesterday, the supply of electricity and water has been cut off in Shewa Robit.

Earlier this year, Fano fighters allegedly damaged the main power transmission line which passes through Shewa Robit city.

According to Ethiopian Power Transmission Authority, the high power tower that connects Kombolcha and Dessie has been stolen by thieves. Therefore power is being supplied to Dessie city, Werebabo, Albuquerque, Kutaber, around Dessie, Woldiya and its surrounding areas in shifts since yesterday.
