The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that malaria is a major health threat in Ethiopia.
According to the World Health Organization’s latest report of the around last ten months, over 7.3 million have been infected with malaria in Ethiopia. 1,157 people died of malaria in the this period.
WHO stated in this report that 75% of Ethiopian territory and 69% of the population living in these areas, especially children, are at high risk.
The United Nations has pointed out that the threat of malaria in Ethiopia is serious due to the spread of mosquitoes such as ‘Anopheles stephensi’, drought, food insecurity, climate change and the ongoing conflicts in the country.
