Somali national army base comes under attack by Al Shabab

Somali National Army (SNA) Base Comes Under Attack

In Somalia, a group called Al-Shabab (AS) has been causing a lot of trouble for years. They’re attacking places where the country’s soldiers are based. These attacks are getting worse and worse.

AS is very good at planning these attacks. They target military camps and attack them all at once. This makes it hard for the soldiers to defend themselves. This morning, they struck a Somali National Army camp in a place called Busley near Dhanaane, which is in the south of Mogadishu.

Fatalities have been reported after a deadly al-Shabaab raid on Busley base, just to the south of Mogadishu, per sources.

Among the soldiers killed is an officer with the military police; some soldiers are reportedly missing; military vehicles have been destroyed, according to the sources.

The al-Shabaab militant group, in a statement, claimed killing “more than 57” soldiers, a figure that has not been independently verified.

These attacks are not just hurting soldiers. They’re making the whole country less safe. Even though the soldiers are trying to stop AS, it’s not easy. AS knows how to hide and recruit new members, especially in places where the government has little control.

Also, Somalia’s government is having some problems of its own. They’re busy dealing with arguments and disagreements. This makes it even harder for them to fight against AS.

To make things better, everyone needs to work together. Soldiers need more support and better plans to stop AS. But it’s not just about fighting. Somalia also needs help with jobs and schools so young people don’t join groups like AS.

Stopping AS won’t be easy, but with everyone’s help, Somalia can become safer for everyone.
