Today, Ethiopian Airlines flight ET248 was flying from Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa. As it prepared to land, smoke was spotted inside the plane. Thankfully, the aircraft landed safely at Dire Dawa Airport, and all passengers got off without any problem.
Ethiopian Airlines has started looking into what caused the smoke in flight ET248. They also apologized to the passengers for any worry this may have caused.
This isn’t the first time smoke has been reported on an Ethiopian Airlines flight. A domestic flight (ET154) of Ethiopian Airlines was flying from Hawassa to Addis Ababa, which encountered a smoke problem during the flight. As the plane was in the air, the crew noticed smoke coming into the passenger cabin. Despite this unexpected issue, the pilot stayed calm, and the aircraft was able to land safely at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa.
Later on, after an investigation, investigators found that the smoke came from burning oil, a rare issue unrelated to the fire.
