Motorcycle riding has been banned in Addis Ababa city starting from today. The ban will remain in place till Monday.
The ban has been announced in connection with Irreechaa celebrations.
According to a statement issued by Addis Ababa authorities, “for the safety of road transport for the celebration of Irecha, today, Friday, October 4, 2024, from 6:00 a.m. to Monday, October 07, 2024, until 12:00 a.m., motorcycle transportation services are prohibited in Addis Ababa city.”
Yesterday, Addis Ababa police announced details of roads which will remain closed in the capital city due to Irreechaa celebrations.
