The Ethiopian Ministry of Education has recently announced university placements for students who took the 12th grade national exam in 2016. The Minister of Education clearly stated, “We won’t accept the request to change the university.” This has led to many discussions among students and parents, as many hoped for more choices in their placements.

University Allocation Announcement

The Ministry has shared the list of universities assigned to eligible students of 12th grade. Those who passed the national exam can check their placements online through these platforms:

Students can easily find out where they have been placed by entering their details, like Student ID, first name, last name, and father’s name.

The Minister has clarified that there will be no changes to university assignments. This decision aims to keep the process organized and ensure students stick to their assigned universities based on their exam scores. The strong words by the Ministry of Education show a commitment to maintaining order in higher education.

This decision has significant effects:

Limited Choices: Students must accept their assigned universities, even if they are not what they want.

More Pressure: Knowing they cannot change adds stress to students’ ability to do well in their chosen fields.

Focus on Adjustment: Students need to make the best of their situation. This can help them become more resilient and adaptable.
