Ethio Telecom will implement a tariff revision starting tomorrow, October 1, 2024. The company plans to improve certain products and services. It assured the public that most people would not feel the impact of this price change. The adjustments will follow principles of proportionality and digital inclusion.
Ethio Telecom stated that 22 service packages will remain unchanged. However, it did not specify the percentage increase or which services will be affected. This decision comes in response to fluctuations in the foreign exchange market, prompting necessary price adjustments.
Last week, the CEO of Ethio Telecom hinted that tariffs would be raised. The CEO, Frehiwot Tamiru, responded to a question about the tariff change.
The journalist asked, “Will Ethio Telecom continue without adjusting the tariff for customers?” The CEO said, “The company did not adjust the tariff because it wants its customers to adjust to new macro-economic changes. But she added, “We will have moderate price increases considering the ability of customers to pay. But it will not be applicable to all customers.”
