Today, the Ethiopian Ministry of Education has announced that the remedial exam, originally scheduled for June 16, 2024, will now be held on June 18, 2024. This change was made because June 16 coincides with Eid al-Adha, a significant Muslim holiday.
The Federal Majlis had previously raised concerns about administering exams on religious holidays or the day after, stating that it is not appropriate. They emphasized that the exam schedule should be planned while considering the important religious holidays that students observe.
This is not the first time the Federal Majlis has addressed this issue. They have dealt with similar situations in the past where the exam calendar conflicted with Muslim holidays.
Yesterday, the Ethiopian Ministry of Education shared some instructions for the students. The Ethiopian Ministry said that for students taking the remedial exam in June 2024, it is important to use the Tele Birr Payment Transaction Code that was sent during registration.
Whereas first-time entrance exam candidates will only receive the password from their current institution. Additionally, re-exam candidates must complete any missing information in the system during registration. All candidates will need to take a practice test as per the future schedule announcement.
