Ethiopian Immigration Service Raises Passport Fees

Ethiopian Immigration and Citizenship Service has raised fees for issuance of passport. New fee schedule has been announced. The fees have been increased after the depreciation of the Ethiopian currency birr in recent days. Ethiopian airline also increased prices for international flights this week.

Standard fee for new passport has been set at 5000 Birr. Fee for the delivery of passport in 5 days would be 20,000 birr. 25,000 birr will be charged in case some one wants the passports to be issued in just 2 days.

First Renewal fee would be 5000 Birr. 20,000 or 25,000 will be charged for renewal of passport in 5 days or 2 days, respectively.

Fee for expired passport pages: Standard 5000 Birr; Urgent 2 days 25,000 ; 5 days 20,000 birr

Those who want to update or make corrections to their passport will have to pay12,500 birr routinely. For urgent 2 days process, 32,500 birr will be charged. 27,500 will be charged for completion of full process in 5 days.

To get damaged passport reissued, the passport holder will have to pay 13,000. For urgent 2 day process, 33,000 will be charged. For process in 5 days, 28,000 would be the fee.

Normal fee for for 1st. lost passport is 13,000 Birr. Fee for urgent delivery in 2 days would be 33,000 and 28,000 for delivery in 5 days.
