The Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority has conducted a thorough evaluation of the fake version of the breast cancer medication market licenses and found that the company registered to bring the product to the Ethiopian market is legitimate. However, the product itself is counterfeit, with a fake identification number (ID) 05830083 and a fake batch number H5170.
The authority has confirmed that the drug, which is manufactured in the United States and available in powder form for administration via a needle, is not authorized for importation into Ethiopia and is not genuine.
The Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority has advised that the product is used to treat breast cancer and requires careful handling. They have recommended that the public be cautious when purchasing medical products and ensure that they are from authorized suppliers.
Furthermore, the authority has warned pharmaceutical importers, distributors, retailers, and healthcare providers not to import, distribute, sell, or buy fake or substandard medicines. They have emphasized the importance of verifying the authenticity and physical condition of medical products before use.
The authority has also stated that they have initiated legal and regulatory actions against individuals involved in the illegal circulation of this counterfeit drug, and they have heightened market surveillance to protect public health.
