Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) awarded Ethiopian Airlines a recognition award during its 35th anniversary celebration. This honor acknowledges the airline’s exceptional service and strong partnership with ZACL.

ZACL awarded ethiopian airlines

ZACL manages four international airports and ten domestic airports in Zambia. It plays a vital role in the country’s aviation sector by providing air navigation services and facilitating both scheduled and unscheduled flights. Recently, ZACL invested $1 billion in a project to modernize airport facilities. This investment increased passenger capacity at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport from 2 million to 6 million annually.

The recognition award from ZACL highlights the contributions of Ethiopian Airlines to the growth of Zambia’s aviation industry, particularly in passenger and cargo services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ethiopian Airlines supported Zambia by transporting essential medical supplies and providing emergency evacuation services.

Mr. Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, expressed gratitude for the award.

Last month, Ethiopian Airlines announced its nominations for the World Travel Awards in six categories. The airline received nominations for Africa’s Leading Airline 2024, Africa’s Leading Airline Brand 2024, Africa’s Leading Airline – Business Class 2024, Africa’s Leading Airline – Economy Class 2024, Africa’s Leading Inflight Magazine, and Africa’s Leading Conference Hotel.
