Ethiopia, a major coffee producer, recently announced that it has exported a record-breaking amount of coffee to international markets in June 2024. The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority reported that the country supplied 46,000 metric tons of coffee during this period, generating a revenue of $218 million.
This achievement surpasses the previous year’s total coffee exports of Ethiopia, which amounted to 298,500 metric tons, valued at $430 million. Compared to the previous fiscal year, this year’s coffee exports have seen a 20% increase in volume and a 7.5% rise in revenue.
The coffee industry plays a crucial role in Ethiopia’s economy, providing employment opportunities and generating much-needed foreign exchange. The recent record-breaking exports are expected to have a positive impact on the country’s economic growth and development.
