Ethiopia News: While people in the Amhara, Afar, and Tigray regions of Ethiopia are in dire and urgent need of humanitarian aid, a huge amount of humanitarian aid is pending distribution in Kombolcha city of Amhara region. Around 2 weeks ago, Tigray forces took control of Kombolcha town which is in the South Wollo zone of the Amhara region.
According to some sources, more than 20,000 metric ton aid supplies of the World Food Program ( WFP ) and 50,000 metric ton aid of other humanitarian partners are waiting to be distributed in Kombolcha town.
Kombolcha town is largely peaceful now. Ethiopian government needs to step up its coordination with aid agencies and Tigray Defence Forces for speedy distribution of such a huge amount of aid. WFP and other humanitarian organizations have been accusing the Ethiopian government of trying to obstruct their operations in the past.
