The telecom company in Ethiopia, Ethio Telecom has expanded its 4G LTE network, now offering the service in over 400 cities across Ethiopia. In a statement to the Ethiopian Press Organization, Ethio Telecom has introduced a new 4G LTE mobile internet service in 77 cities across the country with significant data consumption. The expansion aims to provide faster and more reliable internet connectivity to meet the growing demand for high-speed data services in these areas.
Ethio Telecom announced that its 4G LTE service is now available in 417 cities across the country. The company also revealed that it is planning to expand the service further, based on data traffic growth and demand. The goal of Ethio Telecom is to make the network widely accessible in various cities across Ethiopia.
This expansion is part of Ethio Telecom’s commitment to providing high-speed internet connectivity to more Ethiopians, supporting the country’s digital transformation and economic growth.
Last month, Ethio Telecom launched a new feature on their Telebirr SuperApp called Telebirr Engage, which allows users to chat, share media, and make transactions without internet charges. The Telebirr Engage feature enables one-on-one or group chats, money transfers, and the sharing of bills during conversations.
