Dashen Bank Receives Award from International Finance Corporation

Dashen Bank, in a statement today, said that it had been ranked among the banks that provide the best international business finance services.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) awarded Dashan Bank “Outstanding Global Trade Finance Program Issuing Bank” award in the category of banks that provide outstanding international trade finance services. The bank announced that the award was given at the corporation’s 8th international conference held in Barcelona, ​​Spain.

Meanwhile, Dashen Bank has signed an agreement with the International Finance Corporation in Kigali, Rwanda to further increase its capacity to provide financial services to micro, small and medium enterprises in the country and provide better access to finance.

Dashen Bank was founded by eleven shareholders and veteran bankers with initial capital of Birr 14.9 million in September 1995. Upon securing license from the National Bank of Ethiopia, Dashen opened its doors for service on the 1st of January 1996 with eleven fully-fledged branches. It is the oldest and second largest privately owned bank in Ethiopia. Dashen is a universal bank, serving more than 3.9 million customers across the country, with over 800 branches and more than 10.000 members of staff.
