Adefa Agro Processing PLC has officially launched the Abay milk processing factory in Kombolcha city with an investment of 46 million birr. The factory can process between 24,000 and 30,000 liters of milk daily. Mr. Abay, the managing director, stated that the factory will produce 1,000 liters of pasteurized milk each hour by sourcing milk from around 5,000 farmers. This operation will create jobs for 56 permanent employees and 30 temporary workers. Local officials in Kombolcha believe that the opening of the Abay milk processing factory will greatly benefit the dairy sector in the area.
In addition to enhancing local employment opportunities, the factory aims to improve the livelihoods of farmers by providing a consistent market for their milk. By partnering with local producers, Adefa Agro Processing PLC is committed to fostering sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring high-quality milk production.
