Addis Abeba Housing Development and Administration Bureau today informed tenants and landlords about lease agreement registration.
It will not be extended for the second round,” it said in a statement.
The authority informed the tenants and landlords that date for the registration of the lease agreements will not be extended for the second time. It urged residents to register now to avoid a repeat of the initial registration rush.
Following the issuance of the Housing Control and Management Decree 1320/2016, the Addis Ababa City Administration issued Executive Order No. 7/2016 asking city residents to complete the registration of lease agreements within 30 days till the 7th of July 2024.
However in the first week of July, Addis Ababa authorities extended the date for the registration of lease agreements. The date for the registration of the lease agreements was extended until July 31, 2024.
Around 30,000 agreement were registered per day in June and July. That is why at the request of the residents, the date was extended until July 31, 2024.
The office has called on residents to register now, as the date for lease agreement registration will not be renewed for a second time.
