In the Tigray region, Kelamino School achieved an impressive score of 675 out of 700 in 12th grade exam results. This marks the highest performance recorded to date. This year, 1,363 schools across the country did not have any students who passed. Addis Ababa stands out as the top region for passing grade 12 students. A total of 36,409 students successfully completed the national exam. However, only 26.6% of students who took the online examination passed.

Remedial programs will continue this year. However, the number of students participating will be lower than last year. This indicates a gradual reduction in the program’s scale. The results of the 12th grade exams will be announced at 6:00 PM.

All regions have seen an increase in the number of students passing compared to last year. One official noted that the results reflect improvements in both percentages and actual numbers.

The Amhara region is the only area that experienced a decline in passing numbers. This decline is due to a significant drop in the number of students taking the exam. Only 6.6% of students in that region passed. In contrast, the overall number of students scoring above 500 has risen dramatically. Last year, 273 students scored above 500. This year, that number increased to 1,220. Overall, 5.4% of students passed the exam, equating to 36,409 successful candidates. Female students achieved some of the highest scores.

Notable high scores include a student at Natural Sciences Cathedral School, who scored 575 out of 600. Another student at Ethio Parents in Social Science achieved a score of 538 out of 600. Some schools had no students who passed. This includes four schools in Addis Ababa, 33 in Afar, 36 in Benishangul, 56 in Amhara, 553 in Oromia, 156 in Somalia, and 52 in Tigray. However, all schools in Harari managed to pass students, indicating varied performance across regions.
