The Addis Ababa City Administration’s Law Enforcement Authority has achieved a milestone by collecting over 66 million birr during the 2024 fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year, the authority partnered with 23 sector institutions to enhance their enforcement efforts.
As they look forward to the 2025 budget year, Chief Zerihun is actively engaging with various stakeholders to expand these collaborations. The authority plans to sign contract agreements with 38 companies to work together in the upcoming year.
In addition to enforcing the law, the Addis Ababa Law Enforcement Authority has focused on raising awareness among city residents. Chief Zerihun reported that their outreach efforts have successfully educated over 3 million citizens about the importance of compliance with the law.
The authority has also taken decisive action against more than 6,000 individuals who violated legal regulations. These enforcement actions not only contributed to the substantial revenue collected but also served as a strong deterrent against future offenses.
