Registration starts tomorrow in Addis Ababa with a month-long campaign for the Fayda digital ID. The National ID Program Office and the Addis Ababa City Administration are teaming up to conduct this registration through the Civil Registration and Resident Service Agency.

Yodahe Zemichael, the director of the National ID Program, announced that residents can obtain the Fayda digital ID card for free. This initiative aims to gather biometric data from all residents and improve the efficiency of services across cities, regions, and zones as part of Ethiopia’s Digital Strategy 2025.

To ensure modern services are accessible, the Civil Registration and Residence Service Agency will collaborate closely with the National ID Program on this integrated system. Starting tomorrow, September 30, 2017, E.C., registration will take place in all districts and sub-cities, but it will not include individuals who have already registered.
