Addis Ababa government is considering the launch of the second phase of Addis Ababa Corridor Project. The project was launched to widen and expand city’s roads infrastructure to ensure its connectivity to key installations in the capital city.
The second phase of the corridor development in Addis Ababa, which is 43 kilometers long, will be carried out at the “entrance to the city” areas. The city administration has completed a study of the corridor development works to be carried out in phase two through the planning and development office of the city.
The phase two includes Bole Lemi Kura and Akaki Kaliti sub-towns. The city administration says the “corridor development” work is aimed at beautifying the main roads, widening footpaths, building recreational areas, and modernizing roadside lighting and telecommunication lines.
The first phase of corridor development project covered a total of 48 kilometers with an expenditure of 33 billion birr. The construction of the second phase will be carried out on five lines, and the longest of these lines will cover 14.8 kilometers.

That is great!!! and keep up; Viva. City admin Mayor.(Adanech Abeb)
My main comment is focusing on all main gates to Addis Ababa from different country side(Kiflhager) to visit or to live. But every entrance corridor is very dirty shanty and noisy . When new viewer of Addis should see beauty surprise things to consider Addis Ababa’s brand name of Ethiopia Thus, I expect all gates to Addis should identify from the neighbor region. pleas beautify all GATE to AA.
once I was living in South Africa.
I have had a friend who is South African and he had visited Eth, before.
Said me “is it still the poverty like that?”.
I asked him what he wanted to say.
he replied ” the roads are too dirty , the houses are also very poor standard , except one hotel forgotten the name …”
That hotel was Sheraton.
I couldn’t answer him. Because what he said was true.
But now a days everything is changing With the will of GOD.
If he comes now a days What he would say?
Thanks for corider.
of course it might have some faults some how.
Those who are doing/working are sometimes make a mistake also.
and those who doing/working nothing they will never make a mistake.
I can say , this is a very good opportunity for Addis , ETH , & Africa as well.

Real my goverment good job god blessd you
It is good if the corridor development be starched a bit to CMC 49 areas where there are millions of residences living in 40/60 and lots of real states but no single recreation or developed gardens where elders get together, youth spend time. There are several open spaces but undeveloped. Attention of the city developers may required to these areas although all work done in different part of the town is highly appreciated.
