The fault has disrupted power supply along the high-power transmission line stretching from Mendi to Assosa, a distance of 132 km. The issue occurred last night, causing outages in several areas.

Specifically, the power fault has affected cities such as Gidami, Begi, Kake, Jimma Horro, Kondala, Haroji, and Kebe, including their surrounding regions. Furthermore, the woredas of Asosa city (one and two), Banbasi, Hura, Abrahamo, Sherqole, Menge, Kumruk, Omesha, Tongo, and Undulu are also experiencing power cuts.

In response, Ethiopian Electric Power has deployed teams to repair the damaged transmission line and restore service as soon as possible.
